This page explains, in plain language, exactly what happens to your information
when you use this website. It describes what the site actually does — nothing
more and nothing less.

What we collect

1. The quote request form

When you submit the form on this site, we receive what you type into it:
your name, email address, phone number, city, and the details of the project
you describe. That information is sent by encrypted email to
info@toaelec.com so we can reply to you.
We use it to answer your request and to do the work you ask us about. That is all.

2. Spam protection

The form is protected against automated spam. If a submission is identified
as spam, we record it — including the sending IP address — in a log
on our server so we can keep improving the filter. Those spam records are
deleted automatically after about twelve weeks. Legitimate submissions are not
stored this way: for a genuine message we only record the fact that a message
passed the filter, with no personal information attached.

3. Server logs

Like every web server, ours records each request: the IP address, the page
requested, the date and time, and the browser identifier. These logs exist to
keep the site running and secure, and they rotate automatically.

What we do not do

• We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, or any other tracking or
  advertising service.
• We do not place cookies on your browser when you simply visit the site.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, ever.
• We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote.

Who else is involved

Being straightforward about this: three companies necessarily touch this site.

• Our hosting provider runs the server where this website lives.
• Fastmail handles our email, so your quote request passes
  through their systems on its way to our inbox.

That is the whole list. Every other file this page loads — the styles,
the scripts, the photo carousel, the icons — is served from our own
server. Your browser does not contact any third party while you read this
site.

How long we keep things

We keep quote requests in our email for as long as we have an active or
potential working relationship with you, and for our business records
afterwards. Spam logs are deleted after roughly twelve weeks. Server logs
rotate on a regular schedule.

Your choices

If you want to know what we hold about you, or you want it deleted, write to
info@toaelec.com and we will take care of
it. You do not need to give a reason.

Children

This site is for people hiring an electrician. It is not directed at children
and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this page

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the
date at the top.
